Requirements of the Nurse Practitioner Fluent in Spanish
Bachelor's degree in registered nursing; Master's degree as a nurse practitioner
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
At least 1 year of current experience
Strong work ethic, motivation, and leadership skills
Knowledge of state requirements and federal guidelines
Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish
Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner Fluent in Spanish
Function independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients.
Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment modalities
Implement interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.
Assist with the provision of surgical care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
Facilitate the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
Facilitate staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
